Alex Lopes

With over 20 years of experience in banking and financial services, Alex Lopes brings deep experience to his role as SVP, Southern Maine Regional Market Manager at Machias Savings Bank where he leads the bank’s southern Maine commercial banking team. Alex has built a successful banking career across retail, small business, and commercial banking, with specialized knowledge in commercial real estate, C&I lending, credit analysis, and loan structuring.

Most recently, Alex served as a Senior Relationship Manager/Commercial Lender managing a portfolio of approximately $200 million. Known for his relationship-first approach, he has a proven track record of helping businesses grow through tailored financial solutions and consistent, high-touch service.

Alex earned his BSBA in Finance from Bryant University and is actively involved in the local community, serving on the board of the Risk Management Association’s Maine Chapter and chairing its Education Committee, is a member of Westbrook Regional Vocational School’s Business Education Advisory Committee/Board, a member of the Windham Economic Development Corporation Board and a volunteer with Windham Youth Football.
